Welcome To GTE Track Spray
Keeping the level crossings clear of weeds and other hazards is part of our weed spray operations across the vast networks that we service. Our environmental standards of operation allow us to maintain a clear area, on and to the sides, of the tracks to kill unwanted weed growth, whilst making sure the vegetation that we want to keep is not affected by the herbicides used. This keeps a clear corridor for safety of the vehicles travelling on the tracks, without destroying the beautiful vegetation, like trees and protected species, which are free to flourish.
To enable these highly targeted results, GTE ensures herbicides that would cause drift or run-off are either not used, or carefully contained to the designated areas of spraying by using carefully calibrated equipment and state of the art controls on the vehicles used to deliver the spray with targeted chemicals selected for optimum results and to mitigate against the risk of off-target spraying. For the public, keeping crossings clear not only provides a safer environment to traverse, but it looks much better too. These images are of an area GTE services. The image below of a level crossing we sprayed a few months ago shows the area is still clear of any unwanted growth, and looks great. Adjoining properties and areas have not been adversely affected by our spraying, and in fact, the cleaner look improves the overall appearance of this whole area.
Maintenance workers can clearly access the structures they require: another important reason for keeping these crossings weed-free.
GTE operates across Australia in various states for various clients including but not limited to VLine, Australian Rail Track Corporation, Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure SA and Metro Trains Melbourne.
