Summer Sprays Target Weedy Growth

Summer Sprays Target Weedy Growth

The last of the noxious weed sprays in Victoria were completed in January, keeping these weeds under control on and around the rail corridors with a dedicated spraying program developed from July to January with the environmental teams. We treat many different weeds on the rail networks of Australia, and noxious weeds do form part of our targeted weeds at different times of the year.

Knowing when to spray these weeds is very calculated depending on germination timing and effective treatment periods, bio-site environmental procedures and areas and weather conditions.

Some of the noxious weeds we control include Cactus, African Box Thorn, Bathurst Burr, Horehound, Bindies, Cape Tulip, Patterson’s Curse and Khaki Weed.

Other weeds we control with our spraying services throughout the year include, but are not limited to Cape Weed, Sow Thistle, Milk Thistle, Spiny Burr Grass, Dandelion Weed. Below are some of the more recognizable weeds species in pictures.
